In a Masonic Lodge, officers are typically elected or appointed annually. For the 2026 year, most Florida lodges held their "Installation of Officers" during the first week of January 2026.Masonic leadership is structured in a hierarchy often referred to as "The Line." While individual names vary by specific lodge, the roles and their responsibilities remain consistent across the fraternity. The Elected "Dais" Officers. These are the top three leaders of the lodge, usually elected by secret ballot. They sit in the "East," "West," and "South" of the lodge room. Worshipful Master: The highest-ranking officer who presides over the lodge. His jewel is the Square, symbolizing virtue and "squaring" one's actions. Senior Warden: The second-in-command, responsible for the lodge while it is at labor. His jewel is the Level, symbolizing equality. Junior Warden: Responsible for the lodge during "refreshment" (social time). His jewel is the Plumb, symbolizing uprightness. |

Treasurer Manages the lodge funds and financial records. Secretary Handles all correspondence, minutes, and membership records. Senior Deacon. The Master’s messenger; guides candidates during ceremonies. Junior Deacon. The Senior Warden’s messenger; guards the inner door. Stewards (Sr/Jr)Assist with candidates and manage the preparation of meals. Chaplain Leads the lodge in non-denominational prayer. Marshal Organizes processions and ensures proper etiquette. Tyler (or Tiler) Guards the outer door to ensure only Masons enter. |
